Bachelor Of Science In Food Science And Technology (BScFST):

The department of FST was established in 2008 with a purpose of providing qualifiers with knowledge and skills in Food Science and Technology and satisfy the needs of society for sustainable food quality, safety, and security including the production, storage, distribution, marketing of food and beverages produced from agricultural raw materials. Degree holders will be able to demonstrate the ability to describe food science and technology principles to meet the needs of the society, choose technologies in the development of animal and plant-based food products, conduct laboratory analysis and determine the physical, chemical, and microbiological characteristics of food, conduct sensory evaluation of food products, ensure safety and quality of food along the food production and distribution chain, develop and maintain small and medium scale food enterprises, participate in educational activities to expand knowledge of professional practice and enhance own competencies and performance, conduct research in the area of food science and technology and organize, implement and manage food production and delivery through the provision of leadership and technical support.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

General Certificate of Secondary Education or equivalent with the following minimum grades: E in English Language, C in Mathematics, C in at least two Pure Sciences or BB in Science Double Award and D in any other subject.
