"Welcome to the Department of Physical and Chemical Sciences (PCS).Our department has two disciplines: Physics and Chemistry. These disciplines are crucial to advancing technology, analytics, engineering, and understanding the physical aspects of the universe at large. Our focus is to offer you an experience that sets you on the path to meeting your goals. We offer undergraduate courses that will help those seeking to qualify for work in the STEM-driven industries of the region and beyond. The undergraduate offering also prepares students for local and international postgraduate programmes, fosters innovation and contributes to the scientific and engineering bodies of knowledge associated with the various disciplines. Our research interests are diverse and include the following: Colloids and interface chemistry, Environmental and green chemistry, Heavy metal analysis and polyphenols, Environmental radionuclides transfer, Solar energy, Phytochemistry of indigenous natural products, Biodiversity, Ethnobotany, Microbial analysis of food, water, and plants materials. Our academic staff members are skilled teachers who also carry out research that leads to paradigm shifts that influence the world in which we live by creating new models, algorithms, theorems, and procedures.
