The mandate of the Department of Animal Sciences is to offer higher education and skills training in the broader area of animal production (Nutrition, breeding, and general management) for sustainable development of the country and the region’s livestock sector. We thrive to achieve our mandate through the offering of demand-driven academic programs and short courses and collaborative research to generate new knowledge and innovations for efficient and sustainable production of meat, milk, honey, and eggs and for value addition of animal by products. We exist to serve the country and the region’s livestock Sector."
