Prof. Samuel Chigome

Samuel Chigome received his PhD in Chemistry from Rhodes University, South Africa. He is an Adjunct Research Professor of Materials Science and Water Purification in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at the Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN). His other appointments include, Senior Researcher in Nanomaterials at the Botswana Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (BITRI), Head of Secretariat of the African Materials Research Society (AMRS), Head of the African Regional Office of the International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS), Secretary of the Executive Committee of IUMRS, member of the International Advisory Board of the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Fiber Materials (SKLAFM) at Donghua University, Vice President of the International Advanced Fiber Materials Society, member of the Editorial Advisory Board of ACS Nano, member of the Advisory Board of the US-Africa Initiative in Electronic Structure, Editorial Board Member of Discover Materials, Editorial Board Member of Sustainable Polymer and Energy and co-convener in the Condensed Matter and Materials Physics Working Group of the African Strategy for Fundamental and Applied Physics
