"The Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics is one of the departments under the Faculty of Agribusiness, Education and Extension (FAEE). The department offers a course of study leading to the award of a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics. The degree in agricultural economics covers major areas of economic theory (macro and micro), including environmental economics, resource economics, labour economics, market and price analysis, farm business management, entrepreneurship project appraisal and evaluation and agricultural policy. Employment opportunities for agricultural economics graduate include the following: policy analysts in government and private sector, farm managers in commercial farms; agribusiness specialists in commercial and development finance institutions and managers in food retail stores and other stages in the agricultural value chain."
