Mr. Mogapi E. Madisa was born on January 1, 1955 and married to Ellen Richard-Madisa. He studied diploma in General Agriculture (1978-1980) at university of Botswana and Swaziland, Luyengo Campus. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree (Hort.) at University of New Mexico State, U.S.A in 1985, followed by Master of Science (MSc, Hort.), at University of New Mexico State, U.S.A in 1989 with a Minor in Agricultural Extension Education.
Mr. Madisa joined the Department of Agricultural Research in 1980 as a Technical Officer Horticulture, Assistant Agricultural Research Officer (1985), Agricultural Research Officer and head of section (1986) and promoted to Senior Agricultural Research Officer and Horticulture Program Leader from 1991 to 2000. The main purpose of the job was to coordinate the planning, implementation, and execution of all horticultural research activities country wide, ensuring that research programs and projects meet the national objectives in horticultural development.

Mr. Mogapi E. Madisa is a Horticulturist and his research covers broad areas of agronomy and urban agriculture. Mr. Mogapi E. Madisa gained a lot of experience as the head of the Horticultural Research Programme, in the Department of Agricultural Research, Ministry of Agriculture, Botswana for many years. Mr. Madisa has published over 12 peer reviewed articles in refereed Journals. Mr. Madisa has carried several consultancies such as developing Training Curriculum, Horticulture Training modules. Sponsored by Local Enterprise Authority (LEA), Gaborone, Botswana., Formulation of the National Program for Food Security (Horticulture component), Ministry of agriculture/Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of United Nations (FAO/GoB- TCP/BOT/3102., Situational Analysis of Selected Horticultural Crops Produced in Botswana. Consultancy carried out for Initiative for Development and Equity in African Agriculture (IDEAA), Botswana., Situational Analysis on Tomato Production, marketing, and Post-harvest Activities in Botswana. Consultancy carried out for Initiative for Development and Equity in African Agriculture (IDEAA), Botswana. and a study on Collaborative Vegetable Research Network in Southern Africa. A Proposal CG/SADCC/AVRDC Mission. Mr. Madisa was a member of Botswana Qualification Authority Board from 2016 to 2020.

Mr. Madisa joined Botswana university of Agriculture and natural Resources formerly Botswana College of Agriculture in 2002 as a lecturer. He taught different courses that included Vegetable Production, Fruit Production, Plant Propagation, Floriculture, Landscaping Horticulture, Ornamental Horticulture and Controlled Environment Horticulture. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer position in 2011.

Madisa is a Horticulturist, and his research covers broad areas of agronomy and urban agriculture. Mr. Mogapi E.
